About This Event

5th October 2023 - 5:45pm

On Thursday 5 October, we held our Autumn Connector to support three brilliant small charities working towards positive social change.

The event took place at Bishopsgate Institute. Built in 1895 to create a more just and equitable society, this beautiful venue in the heart of the city is home for ideas, learning and vibrant communities - making it the perfect place to hear from charity leaders!

You can now watch the pitches and donate to T1International, Youngwilders and CodeBrave!

How It Works

At our live crowdfunding events, non-profits that are nominated and selected by members pitch for £10,000 each. Our events are open to anyone to attend and donations range from £10 to £10,000. Not been to a live crowdfunding event before? Read this to find out more.

The Projects

At our events, charities pitch for 6 minutes before taking questions from the audience.

T1International advocate for access to insulin as a human right. They envision a world where everyone with type 1 diabetes can access and afford life-sustaining treatment and no one has to spend 80% of their income on insulin. T1International wants to build a patient Working Group, to work towards our goal of insulin and testing supplies costing no more than 5% of average income.

Youngwilders are a non-profit organisation focused on accelerating the nature recovery of the UK and involving young people in the movement. They do this by running youth-led ecological restoration projects across the UK, as well as a mix of experimental youth-engagement and platforming programmes. Their goal is to hire an Outreach Officer to lead on designing outreach programmes to encourage underrepresented groups to the environmental sector.

CodeBrave are a charity giving young people in Lebanon the tools to lift themselves out of poverty through an innovative business model. They educate children aged 11 to 18 from disadvantaged backgrounds (1,500 so far, 53% girls) in coding, robotics and AI. CodeBrave wants to expand and reach 10,000 students by 2026.
