City for LGBT+ 2020
About This Event
We joined forces with GiveOut and Consortium for the second edition of City for LGBT+ on 14 October, raising over £23,000 for four fantastic charities. Thank you to all who came and supported, and special thanks to Macquarie Group for their generous matched funding.
At our events, charities pitch for 6 minutes before taking questions from the audience.

UHAI EASHRI is Africa’s first indigenous activist fund supporting sexual and gender minorities, and sex worker human rights. Established in 2009, and based in Nairobi, the organisation funds activists organising in 7 Eastern African countries—Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda—and Pan-African organisations working across the continent.

L’Union Féministe Libre (UFL) is Morocco’s only registered LGBTQI organisation, and works to defend women’s rights and combat gender based and sexual violence. The organisation takes an intersectional, feminist approach to their work, creating a space for LBTQ women to support one another.

BlackOut UK is a not-for-profit run and owned by a volunteer collective of Black gay men. They recognise and celebrate the diversity of experience and views among Black queer men in the UK and are seeking to create spaces to explore and reflect on commonalities and differences. They provide a space for debate and discussion both online and face-to-face through writer workshops, networking events, as well as supporting interventions to meet the needs of black queer men.

Opening Doors London (ODL) provides direct services and support to address isolation and loneliness amongst older LGBT+ people, as well as working with mainstream organisations to improve their understanding of the needs and experiences of older LGBT+ people and develop appropriate services. ODL aims to ensure that older LGBT+ people are able to live happy, healthy lives free from discrimination and prejudice.
