About This Event

15th March 2023 - 6:00pm

On Wednesday 15th March, we held our first ever International Connector.

At this online crowdfunding event, three brilliant small charities from Hungary, Peru and Romania pitched for £7,5000 to £10,000. They were nominated by members of our trusted network of international partners.

Watch the pitches below or you can make a donation here.

How It Works

At our live crowdfunding events, non-profits that are nominated and selected by members pitch for £10,000 each. Our events are open to anyone to attend and donations range from £10 to £10,000. Not been to a live crowdfunding event before? Read this to find out more.

The Projects

At our events, charities pitch for 6 minutes before taking questions from the audience.

EYA supports young people in Hungary facing poverty and abuse. They are seeking funding to expand their resilience-building programme for Roma girls and women at risk of domestic violence. This is a vital issue, with only a few organisations in Hungary currently supporting Roma girls.

Kantaya delivers teaching assistant training to young vulnerable women in Peru through their programme, Podera. This not only helps women access work, but also helps improve the quality of education in Peru (it currently ranks 129 out of 137 countries, with many teachers lacking pedagogical qualifications). To date, they have supported more than 220 women - 82% of whom are now employed.

Forum Apulum give young Romanians the information, skills and knowledge they need to become civically engaged citizens. Through their workshops and social media channels, they fill in the gaps left by mainstream media channels to ensure young people are not left out of societal conversations and drawn towards extreme political views.
