Black Funding Network passes £200,000 milestone
Date
On 1 October, the Black Funding Network (BFN) held its Autumn event, generously hosted by Monzo in London, bringing people together to support three inspiring Black-led grassroots organisations.
We heard powerful pitches from Awaken Genius, which supports neurodivergent Black children and their families through creative education and therapeutic support; Quiet Time Therapy, which provides culturally appropriate mental health services; and The Catalyst Collective, which connects Black girls with professional Black women mentors to build confidence, skills and opportunities.
Co-founded in 2020 by TFN member Patricia Hamzahee OBE, BFN uses The Funding Network's live crowdfunding model to grow Black philanthropy while bringing people from all backgrounds together to support small, Black-led grassroots organisations. With the October event, BFN has now raised over £220,000 for 33 grassroots organisations, demonstrating the power of collective giving to strengthen communities and address inequality.
BFN's next event is planned for spring 2027. To find out more or get involved, contact admin@blackfundingnetwork.org.
