TFN in Portugal

Date

Last month we were delighted to deliver training in Lisbon on the TFN model to representatives from 17 Portuguese Foundations interested in bringing TFN events to their communities. Together, they are exploring new ways to raise funds for grassroots projects, encourage local philanthropy, and strengthen connections across different parts of society.

The training was hosted by the Centro Português de Fundações and formed part of our wider TFN International programme, through which we have built a growing network of partners in 31 countries — and counting. You can read more about TFN International here.

Participants (pictured) travelled from across Portugal, from the small Ribatejo town of Golegã — famous for its annual National Horse Fair — to Ponta Delgada in the Azores, as well as beautiful Porto and communities in and around Lisbon.

We were particularly delighted to be able to deliver the training in Portuguese thanks to the participation of TFN’s Charity and Impact Manager, Inês Ribeiro, who returned to her home city for the occasion.

The response to the training was extremely positive. Through an interactive event role play, participants experienced TFN’s trademark approach first-hand — from match funding and strict timekeeping to passionate live pitches. We are excited to see the first wave of Portuguese TFN events emerge over the next 12 months. Watch this space!

Muito obrigado ao Ricardo, à Sofia e à Patrícia.
