TFN charity alumni Solutions Not Sides is making excellent progress building a coalition to influence the curriculum review and make the case for conflict resolution skills to be taught in schools across the country.

At our Connector Plus event in March, founder and Executive Director Sharon Booth (pictured) pitched for support to build the coalition and develop the evidence needed to influence the review.

This would represent a substantial scaling up of the widely praised work the charity has been delivering for over 15 years, bringing Palestinian and Israeli peacebuilders into schools together to help young people understand the conflict, hear different perspectives and develop the skills to discuss difficult and divisive issues.

Over the next six months, a national teacher survey, research report and conference will build the evidence needed to make the case for conflict resolution skills as the new curriculum is developed for introduction from 2028. As Sharon told us, the work is becoming “even more well-rounded and long-term than I had hoped”.
