We’re delighted to announce the charities selected to pitch at our Autumn Connector, following nominations from TFN members and consideration by a panel of members.
At the event, we will hear pitches from:
Chamos – In Aid of the Children of Venezuela, which helps children affected by recent earthquakes to continue their education.
Lawyers Who Care, which supports care-experienced young people to build successful careers in the legal profession.
Youth Environmental Service (YES), which creates employment opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds in the environmental sector.

Three brilliant small charities
Lawyers Who Care
Nominated by MIshcon de Reya
Lawyers Who Care helps care-experienced people build careers in law. Without family support, role models, a financial safety net, professional contacts or informal advice, many face barriers that limit their opportunities and leave their voices underrepresented in the legal profession and justice system. Founded in 2024 and led by people with lived experience, the charity has already supported 127 aspiring lawyers through mentoring and access to professional opportunities. Funding would pilot small grants for costs such as travel, accommodation and childcare, enabling more people to take up valuable work experience. This is an exciting opportunity to help a young organisation meet growing demand from care-experienced people facing significant disadvantage.

Chamos In Aid of the Children of Venezuela (Chamos) is a small UK charity founded in 2007 to support vulnerable children through education, health and clean-water programmes. Led by a dedicated team of volunteers with deep Venezuelan roots, it has spent 19 years building trusted local partnerships in a country where children already faced severe poverty, food insecurity and disrupted education. June’s twin earthquakes have deepened that crisis, destroying homes, schools and communities. Chamos’s longstanding presence allows it to act quickly and effectively, while its leadership mobilises the Venezuelan diaspora behind the recovery effort. This is a timely opportunity to channel urgently needed support to children through an established organisation already working on the ground.

Many are caught in a cycle of needing experience to secure work but being unable to gain it without a job. Founded in 2021 and currently housed within the Eden Project, YES works with employers to create roles and supports trainees with coaching, skills development and peer support. Funding would help this young organisation move towards becoming a standalone charity, refine its Bristol model and explore national expansion. This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen the environmental sector by bringing through a more diverse generation of skilled young people, at a time when their contribution is increasingly urgent.
