What a difference a year makes
At our live crowdfunding events, we come together to support charities and non-profits with vital projects. Less than a year on, we’re thrilled to share the impact made by some of the projects funded this past year.
Cornerstone was funded at our Northern Funder back in January 2022. They pitched for support for a sit up service in Hartlepool to help people rough sleeping in the winter months. They received £18,000, which meant they could run the service until April this year, accommodating almost 40 people that otherwise would have been rough sleeping. They have since been able to secure funding from Hartlepool Borough Council to continue running their service.

Gallows Close Centre also pitched at our Northern Funder, raising more than £14,000 to help them run activities for young people and vulnerable families in Scarborough. With the funding they were able to deliver football coaching, free healthy lunches, beach trips, days out, arts and crafts sessions and a residential trip to Wales. One parent volunteer said: "The staff, the volunteers and children are a huge family to us."
Maymessy raised £10,000 at our Spring Funder to support young adults with severe complex needs cook healthy meals. Since September, they have held eight classes with three different groups, supporting ten adults with complex needs. The groups have made great progress, not only with healthy eating and trying new food, but also with getting outdoors and sourcing vegetables for their dishes. One participant said, "Thank you for everything you did for us. Thanks for my independence and showing me my new skills. Thanks for everything."
The Restart Project, founded in 2012, also pitched with us in April to grow their network of London-based community repair activities and groups. Since they were funded, 12 new groups have started – the most growth they’ve had in ten years!

The Visionaries used funding from the Spring Funder to hire Patsy as Marketing Lead. A young person from The Visionaries Network, she has brought youth voice into governance and has expanded the network of young people leading on environmental and social change. This summer, thanks to the work of Patsy, a young person called Charlie came to one of their camps and said: "It was the most life-changing experience I’ve ever had."

Oblique Arts, funded in March 2020 and May 2022, got in touch to let us know that they were successful in their bid to become a National Portfolio Organisation for the Arts Council. For a small charity working with highly marginalised groups such as the Traveller community, this is a huge achievement. Beverley at Oblique Arts told us: “We could not have done this without you and the generous support of your donors. This gives us the financial stability and support that we need. Please share our gratitude and admiration of your work.”
