Beyond the money, cultivating connections
As any small charity will tell you, fundraising is a crucial part of the day-to-day work. Without funds, the vital work charities deliver simply cannot exist. However, over 20 years of experience has taught us that charities (and especially small ones) need more than money to thrive (indeed to survive) and keep supporting the communities they serve. That’s why we centre our work around connections.
Through our events, we foster relationships between those with the means and those with the might. We ensure that people with direct knowledge of the problems affecting society have the time and space to be heard; and that those able and willing to support them learn how best to go about it. We know that beyond the money, most of our members have skills, expertise and/or time to donate, and that small charities often need those to progress. So we cultivate open and honest conversations and help charities make the most of them.
Our charity alumni often report that the connections sparked at our events were as fruitful as the funds. They can end up meeting their next advisor, trustee, donor and/or volunteer. Above all, they get the opportunity to extend their network and raise awareness of the cause they support.
