Young Funding Network (YFN) is the young people's offshoot of The Funding Network. We hold events where you can come together with other young people to have fun and support the causes you care about. You'll likely find a cheap bar, live music and loads of other lovely surprises. Then comes the exciting bit; you'll hear from three inspirational projects and have the chance to support them with your time, money and skills. There is no requirement for membership of YFN, and your £10 ticket serves as a donation to the project of your choice on the night!
We are a volunteer-led initiative, and in 2015 we received our first grant funding from Macquarie Group Foundation, enabling us to increase the support we provide to young social change projects.
We'd love you to join us at Crowdbacker 2017, an evening showcase of new ideas crafted by Year Here’s current Fellows to tackle some of society’s toughest challenges. Since 2014, Year Here’s Crowdbacker has launched 12 social ventures which have collectively raised more than £750,000 and reached over 2000 beneficiaries. Ventures launched previously include Cracked It; named The Evening Standard’s best phone repair shop, Settle; Housing Excellence Award winners, and Birdsong; one of The Guardian’s top ethical fashion brands. This year’s ventures are using cooking to rehabilitate offenders, creating tech solutions to support homeless young people and improving access to primary healthcare with behavioural economics. Come along to support the next generation of the UK’s top social entrepreneurs.
