TFN welcomes international visitors to 15th Birthday
Last Thursday we came together once again to support projects from four social change organisations, raising £34,000 and bringing the total raised at TFN events to more than £10 million. The event also happened to mark 15 years to the day since the first ever TFN event was held and while in many ways little has changed since then, the event held many reminders of how much we have developed in that time. We welcomed four projects to pitch instead of ten (!) and more than 100 people, both old and new faces, joined us to support them.
But perhaps the most important reminder of how far we've come was the fact that we were joined by representatives of civil society organisations from two other countries who will be looking to join the TFN movement and host live crowdfunding events in their own communities. We were delighted to welcome Norbert Képes and Erika Bodnár from Térerő Community Foundation, Hungary and Melis and Didem Eroglu from the Social Transformation Centre in Northern Cyprus. They will soon be joining more than 50 organisations around the world in using TFN's live crowdfunding model to drive social change and strengthen civil society in their local areas. Like all of our affiliates around the world, they each face particular challenges which they hope TFN's model can help them to address. We'll be supporting them along the way and can't wait to join them for their first events!
