TFN in Romania making strides
Our friends in Romania have had a busy couple of months, with four live crowdfunding events across the country hosted by Community Foundations in Brasov, Covasna, Timisoara and, just last night, Ploiesti. These events (“Cercul de Donatori”, in Romanian) supported projects ranging from protecting the rural environment through teaching crafts to supporting the parents of children with special educational needs. The first three of these events (we're awaiting results from the fourth) collectively raised an impressive £11,000 and attracted hundreds of donors.
Our fantastic partners at ARC Romania have recently launched a website where you can find details of events happening in Romania. We're chuffed to bits to see the brilliant effect the "Cercul de Donatori" movement is having.
Since the first event based on TFN's model in Bucharest in 2013, live crowdfunding events in Romania have collectively raised over £120,000 and supported more than 125 projects. These projects are often local community focused and deliver real grassroots change in places from Cluj to Iasi to Sibiu to Galati. We’re delighted that TFN’s live crowdfunding has had such a wide reach and is helping to transform lives in places we could never have imagined.
In more TFN International news, TFN Hungary's first event in Miskolc takes place tomorrow, 26th May. Jennie from the team will be there so we'll report back soon. Good luck to Norbert and the team in Miskolc for tomorrow!
