BAFTA & Oscars Nominations for TFN projects
It's been an exciting month, with announcements for the BAFTAs and the Oscars nominations both featuring projects funded at TFN last year:
We're so pleased for Notes on Blindness which is nominated for Outstanding British film, Outstanding debut and Documentary. Notes on Blindness pitched at our film funding event in July 2016 and were kind enough to host a private screening of their documentary for TFN members as part of TFN Treats. The ceremony is on 12th February so there's not long to find out if they win - keep your fingers crossed for them!
We also heard from The Syria Campaign at our film funding event last year, pitching for funding for the outreach programme around their documentary, the White Helmets. The documentary received 5 star reviews and saw the group of Syrians it followed nominated for the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize, and now there's even more exciting news! It's nominated for Best documentary (short subject), and we'll find out on 26th February if they're successful.
We're so proud to be able to support projects doing such great work and going on to gain such amazing recognition - if you'd like to come and support more innovative organisations creating social change, come along to one of our upcoming events.
